Institute of Parliamentary Opposition

Introduction of an institute of parliamentary opposition, providing for the consolidation of additional guarantees for the representation of parliamentary minority parties in the governing structures of the legislative body.

The terms “parliamentary majority” and “parliamentary opposition” are ensured at the legislative level. It also provides for a mechanism of election of the Opposition MPs will chair at least one permanent committees of the Mazhilis and have two secretaries of two committees of the chamber.

Opposition MPs also may initiate at least one parliamentary hearing in a calendar year and set the agendas of the “government hours”.
